Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec and their Rope Chair

French duo Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec have produced a chair for Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek out of a metal frame interlaced with a single length of marine rope that creates its own back and armrests.

French duo Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec have produced a chair for Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek out of a metal frame interlaced with a single length of marine rope that creates its own back and armrests.

The RopeChair, which was unveiled as part of this Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, consists of hollow steel tubeswith cut workouts that let a bit of cable to be threaded by these in oneuninterrupted motion.

All thefour legs consists of a separate tube, which can relate to others byweaving the rope from the front leg to the top of the very first rear leg and then overto the second one, before swinging back into the front leg.
